The Free Throw Trainer 3.0™ is a hand made device that straps to a basketball hoop. A great deal of design work and product testing has gone into making this the best possible device for improving shot direction, distance, and arc.
To install the Free Throw Trainer 3.0™ one has to get to the hoop by lowering it and/or elevating yourself with a ladder or some other device. Always use caution when doing so and follow the other manufacturer's recommendations, for example, when using a ladder. Please use caution!
Our current model, Free Throw Trainer 3.0™, is made of a clear vinyl tubing that has two pieces of Velcro™ stuck to it. The tube is slipped over the rim, and then the yellow post is attached.
The yellow post is precisely sized and shaped to provide flexibility and the perfect target to aim at for distance, direction and arc. The yellow post is made of a rubber and plastic mix that is flexible and durable, indoors or out.
The Free Throw Trainer 3.0™ has a Red Tip. 1.0 had no colored tip. 2.0 had a black tip. Now, we have a red target to aim at, just like a bull's eye on a target. Use the recommended and proven mantra, "HIT THE RED TIP" each and every time as part of your ritual. Read the advice from NCAA Coach Loya on our home page.
Use the Velcro™ straps to hold the yellow post to the vinyl tubing. Two straps are included. Synch it on tightly and make sure it is twisted toward the front, leaning toward the front. The yellow post can be hit hundreds of times before it begins to develop memory. If it starts to lean in toward the center of the hoop, which might occur sooner in warmer weather, then un-synch it and turn it around, re-synch it again. We've had the Free Throw Trainer 3.0™ up all summer and turned it once or twice. It has a lot of durability. Turn it around, straighten it up, and keep shooting.
Use the Free Throw Trainer 3.0™ to improve your shot percentage, or to get your shooting back on target if you are in a slump.
Move it around the rim to different locations so you can practice from different spots on the floor.
If you have any recommendations on how we can improve the Free Throw Trainer 3.0™, please email us! The contributions from some coaches has really helped us to make this an improved product that really works.
